Is Science Entering a Dark Age via Wokeism?

It’s human nature to compete, trade, and negotiate for anything important and of value. Sometimes that may include cheating, cutting corners, and resorting to various unscientific means — but most recently and particularly dangerous, the mainstream narratives and nonessential activism creeping their way into science. Scientists have been known to fake their results and publish them in top scientific journals to trade and negotiate for fame, funding, and other goods. But, at least they performed a masterpiece of falsifying results on certain areas of interest. Nevertheless, when reviewers found out, they immediately removed such articles even if they never carried a direct threat to humankind.

This is not the case with wokeism. Today, the woke don’t even hide their stupidity and lies in Science and everywhere else, they flat-out flaunt them. The danger with activism and wokeness is that lies and blatant allegations lacking evidence, somehow make it into respectable sources. Nowadays, activists can publish fake or imaginary opinions at ease without any barriers. All they need is to join the mob of “institutionalized racism, equity, and anti-white-supremacy”. Most alarming, even if such publications are a threat or danger to society, countries, or groups of people, as long as they are politically correct or follow a mainstream narrative, they never get removed or challenged regardless of their damage.

Recently, the Science journal published an editorial, “Black Scientists Matter” by MW Makgoba, a world-renowned South African immunologist, physician, and public health advocate. His absurd title makes it sound as if Black scientists are being hunted and killed left and right. Then he turns to COVID-19, alleging the pandemic affects Black communities more than others because of “racism”. Thus, he pretends to ask the world a very profound question, “Do Black scientists matter?”

Ironically, he compares scientists with criminals, and by doing so he hopes to trigger the entire world into his false premise and misinformation. Before we get to black scientists, we must say, we now understand well the significant factors that caused disproportionately high COVID…
